Narbonne: Ski celebrations this weekend in Liberty Square

The Narbonne Ski and Snowboard Club is organizing the Space Cup on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.

On the occasion of the Coupe de l'Espace, the Espace de Liberté ice rink will welcome 150 skaters aged from 3 to over 40 years old on Saturday, May 25 from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday, May 26 from 9 am to 12 noon. 30 (free entry).

The Figure Skating Club of Narbonne organizes this competition every year. For 2024, the team is preparing to welcome French League clubs (Font-Romeu, Toulouse, Castres and Montpellier) but also FC Chamonix for the first time as well as Nice, the defending champion of the Alpes d'Or and even FC Andorra.

So it is expected that there will be many skaters, but also several judging officials including two international judges among a panel of 13 people. The Narbonne competition will also enable the training of six future judges, observers or technical specialists. From beginners to participants of the French Championships, passing through the entertainment sector, the skaters, despite the tension, will undoubtedly give their best to make this event not only a competition, but also a celebration of ice and sliding. This event will also mark the end of the competition period for the 2023-2024 season. The season will end for all Narbonne skaters on June 14 and 15 at 8:30 pm at the Espace de Liberté ice rink during the Bubbles of Emotions concert.
