In Toulouse, Rugby Village opens its doors to France-New Zealand
On the occasion of the opening of the Rugby World Cup on September 8 and the French-New Zealand poster, the Toulouse Metropole Rugby Village will be opened. The program includes DJs, drones, performances and an anti-black meeting!
From September 8 to October 28, the 2023 Rugby World Cup returns to France for the third time. Toulouse, one of the ten cities hosting this global sporting event, will host five matches. On this occasion, Toulouse Métropole created the Rugby Village, the largest in France with 40,000 places, in the Prairie des Filters. It is freely accessible and will open on September 8 at 2pm-1am.
The big party is on September 8th
On this occasion, a large festive and family program will be presented. DJs Jay Style, Laurent Wolf and Trinix will follow each other to deliver crazy sets. Omar Hassan will sing the French national team anthem, followed by a haka performance. A fantastic event will also be organized in the skies of Toulouse: the Drone Rugby Show. For 15 minutes, 200 drones will form 13 stunning paintings. Finally, to end this unforgettable evening, Vader will be on deck to deliver a fantastic set.
The highlight of the evening will be the broadcast of the 2023 Rugby World Cup opening ceremony and the France-New Zealand match at 9:15pm. The atmosphere will be electric with lots of interactive activities, displays of bands and flags, great applause and even a countdown.
40,000 residents of Toulouse are expected
With a total capacity of 40,000 people, the Rugby Village offers two broadcast areas, a fan zone on the Pont Neuf side of the meadow which will accommodate 30,000 people, and a quieter one, in the centre, with a relaxation area, planned for 10,000 people. It will be open to all matches of the French team, on match days in Toulouse and the final stages.
Food trucks and entertainment…
About ten food trucks and several refreshment bars will allow family, friends, individuals or lovers to come and eat on the banks of the Garonne, while watching a match or relaxing before going to the stadium. Activities for children, beach rugby matches, DJ performances, fan cam, games, predictions and a social wall, to lift the mood…
Rugby Village is a complete immersion in the World Rugby Festival in Toulouse, the land of rugby!
