GMR Grand Prix – Presentation of the event

Round five of the 2023 NTT INDYCAR Series season, the GMR Grand Prix will be contested at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend.

If there are four different winners in the first four races of the season the INDYCAR peloton makes it to Indianapolis Motor Speedway the least we can say is that Will Power likes home at the road course. The Australian from Team Penske has won five of the thirteen races contested on the road circuit. Frenchman Simon Pagenaud is the only other road-to-Indianapolis winner with three wins. Scott Dixon, Josef Newgarden, Rinus Vichai, Colton Herta and Alexander Rossi all have one win each.

Six drivers have competed in all of the races contested on the road circuit, namely Scott Dixon, Josef Newgarden, Simon Pagenaud, Will Power, Graham Rahal and Takuma Sato. This clan will be reduced by 1 unit, since this week there are no Japanese in this event.

The event will mark Scott Dixon’s 350th race with Chip Ganassi Racing. The New Zealander, a six-time champion of the discipline, made his 300th start and 10th in a row.
