The New Zealand international (34) will boost the Landes workforce until the end of the season. She has just completed her independent career at Villeneuve-d’Ascq, in the Women’s League and the Eurocup
To compensate for the long-term unavailability of the Brazilian interior, Clarissa dos Santos, Basket Lands has called in Gillian Harmon (1.86m, 34), who is coming to bolster Julie Barnes’ workforce until the end of the season. This was announced by the club on Monday noon on its website and social networks.
“We are very happy to sign Gillian, an experienced player who knows the high level. She has defensive qualities, playing qualities that complement what we need. She is also a team player, loves beautiful basketball, so it was important for us to get her back,” says her future coach.
The New Zealand international (played in the 2016 Rio Olympics), with a British and US passport, will make his New Yorker debut on the Mitterrand floor on January 8, 2022, to mark the reception for de Villeneuve d’ Ascq, the club with which she started the season to replace another Brazilian Damiris Dantas.
Under the Guerrières de l’ESBVA-LM jersey, Harmon converted 6.9 points (43.1% shooting), 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 26 league minutes, 11.4 points (48.9% shooting), 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 29 minute in the European Cup.
Aside from one season in Australia in 2014-2015, the Stanford graduate has so far spent her entire career in the Italian Premier League. For two seasons, she privately participated in the inner sector of Schio, with Sandrine Gruda, on orders of Pierre Vincent.
