Duel comparison: Samsung Galaxy S23+ vs Oppo Find X5 Pro

Demanding very high quality, these two references promise mountains and wonders of photography. However, they do not have the same composition. Oppo relies on 50MP sensors for its wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle units (f/1.7 and f/2.2), while a 13MP sensor, with a 52mm-equivalent telephoto lens, enables 2x zoom.

On the Samsung side we also count on a 50 MP main sensor (wide angle f / 1.9), while the second sensor of 50 MP is associated with an ultra-wide lens (f / 2.2), and a third sensor of 10 Mpx flanked by a 3x optical zoom lens.

As you can see, the two devices have an interesting duel. However, the Find X5 Pro benefits thanks to a softer and more natural display, especially at night, even if the colorimeter turns out to be a bit cooler. Like all other models in its range, the S23+ tends toward overexposure which is a disservice to our test scene. It is less visible in real shots.

So the Galaxy S23+ doesn’t hold back. The landscape is clear and legible and the elements that are difficult to copy (such as maps and their reflections) are well managed. On the other hand, we notice a rather large loss of detail over other sensors. It’s just as clear at the ultra-wide angle during the day, which is where Oppo puts in a more convincing show. This diversity allows him to maintain the advantage.
