Coronavirus, Covid 19: Six new cases have been isolated.

The latest numbers of Covid-19 cases in New Zealand will be revealed shortly after 1pm.

Yesterday it was announced that an Air New Zealand crew member had been infected with the Covid-19 virus.

They arrived in New Zealand on December 9, on a flight from the United States.

The person tested positive as part of the mandatory test required within 48 hours of working in the United States.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the risk to the general public is considered low.

Six new cases of Covid-19 were announced in managed isolation announced Friday.

At that time, there were no community cases and New Zealand’s total number of cases was 57.

Of the six new cases, five are active and one is historical:

• One case arrived in New Zealand on November 26, from South Africa via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. This person was tested because he was in a travel bubble with two confirmed cases and is in a quarantine facility in Auckland.

New Zealand had its first confirmed case of Covid-19 on February 28, and as of March 3, daily updates have been provided by the Ministry of Health.

On Monday, the ministry announced that it would cut the frequency of updates to four times a week.

Updates are now scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

No new cases have been reported in the community since November 21, when the last case associated with the Oakland Defense Force was reported. This person has now been tested negative and there are now no active cases included in the community.
