Concert for the Queen in front of Buckingham Palace: Rock stars on the anniversary | entertainment
England remained in a state of emergency for several days, celebrating Elizabeth II (96).
Saturday evening highlight: A huge party was held in front of London’s famous Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen’s 70th anniversary!
In front of thousands of jubilant spectators, stars from around the world rocked the stage on the third day of celebrations for Her Majesty’s Anniversary.
Mood: regal, exuberant, gorgeous!
Among others on the big stage at the “Platinum Party at the Palace” (about 22,000 spectators on site): rocker Queen with Adam Lambert (40), rock legend Rod Stewart (77), British pop star Craig David (41 ), world superstar Elton John (75) as well as Motown legend Diana Ross (78).
American star Alicia Keys, 41, and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, 63, also insisted they come to the big anniversary party and sing for the British monarch.
The Queen opens the Queen’s Royal Ball
The big party kicked off with Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” the mega hit that every Brit and the rest of the world probably knows. Then it happened in quick succession: a single musical act followed. Its star ESC Sam Ryder (32), who let the crowd go wild with his song “Space Man,” also caused British fans to go nuts.
Prince William (39) and his charming wife Kate (40) and their children Charlotte (7) and George (8) rocked the heir to the throne, Prince Charles (73) and his wife Camilla (74). They laughed, sang and had a great time!
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 57, and his wife, Carrie, 34, also came along and didn’t want to miss out on the big, grand party.
Also seen on the celebrity stand: Princesses Eugenie (32) and Beatrice (33) with their husbands. A real show of famous royals and politicians.
By the way, Prince Harry (37) and Duchess Meghan (40) were not there. They preferred to celebrate in a private place The first Christmas of their little daughter Lilibet.
And the Queen was not there either. I watched the supposedly big concert at Windsor Castle on TV (it was broadcast by the BBC in England).
From the very beginning, Elizabeth II appeared on the big screen in a video clip, to the delight of her fans. In it, she is shown having tea with the film’s character, Paddington.
“Thank you for everything,” said the bear – speaking from everyone’s heart.
Was that a celebration and what an event for the extra class!
Prince William pays tribute to the Queen in a speech
Prince William gave a moving speech to his grandmother, the Queen, during the ceremony. “You can’t be here today,” he said. “But she might hear us.”
Hailing the Platinum Jubilee ceremony as an event “full of optimism and joy”, he also praised the Queen for her always positive attitude and efforts towards a better future.
Prince William: “If we work together to bring out the best in humanity and restore our planet, we will protect it for our children, our grandchildren, and for generations to come.”
‘Your Majesty, Mom’: Charles thanks the Queen for 70 years of service
Prince Charles, heir to the throne, also took the opportunity to say a few words from the stage to his mother.
Her son thanked the Queen for her decades of service in the United Kingdom. “On behalf of all of us, I want to pay tribute to our lifelong selfless service,” the 73-year-old said in his address to “Her Majesty Mama.”
