Challenge Cup/Paloise Division: EPCR appeals refusal to cite Daniel Ramsay
The European Rugby Cup’s organizing body has appealed against the refusal to cite against the second line of the Paloise division, Daniel Ramsey, who had him cleared a week ago by the EPCR Disciplinary Committee.
theThe Daniel Ramsay series continues. EPCR, the organizer of the Challenge Cup, does not abandon the second line of the Pau division and resumes its refusal to cite the alleged “thorn” that occurred during the match against the London team of Ireland last December 11. The 37-year-old New Zealander, who is in his ninth and final season in the green and white jersey, “is suspected of having touched the eye of Rob Simmons in the second grade, […] in violation of Rule 12.9”.
After viewing photos of the event, he took Balois’s statement – who pleaded not guilty – and then gave the floor to Benjamin Perelevade (the player’s legal representative) and Sebastian Pequerones (Division Manager) William McTiernan (the officer in charge of EPCR discipline), the Disciplinary Board decided that despite the communication of Ramsay with Simmons’ eye or eye area, except that his act does not deserve a red card. The citation was therefore rejected,” the EPCR determined, while leaving itself the right to appeal. That is what it did on Wednesday.
The appeal will be heard Thursday via video conference by the Independent Appeals Committee. If the range is proven, Danielle Ramsey risks a suspension from 6 to 208 weeks.
