CD Projekt announces development of Next The Witcher on Unreal Engine 5 – News

Even getting out of the cross-platform development difficulties of Cyberpunk 2077, it’s no exaggeration to consider this announcement as big when we know it. Witcher 3 It has sold over 30 million copies worldwide as well as garnered around 250 Game of the Year awards, and the franchise has once again proven its popularity with the success of the Netflix series.

Witcher 4dare we call it that pending a more official announcement, there’s clearly no release date and it’s clear that it won’t be released for a number of years, especially since the CD Projekt crew will be busy for a while on expansions from Cyberpunk 2077 movie.

If the extensions in question will always be developed using the in-house REDengine engine, The Next Witcher will be based on the Unreal Engine 5. A long-standing technology partnership with Epic Games that is part of a revamp that CD Projekt hopes to embark on will make the development process more efficient.

It is critical that CD PROJEKT RED have a technical direction for our future game from the beginning; In the past, we spent a lot of resources and energy developing REDengine and adapting it to each new version of the game. This collaboration is very exciting, as it will improve development anticipation and efficiency, while giving us access to state of the art development tools. I can’t wait to see the amazing games we’ll be creating with Unreal Engine 5!‘ rejoices coach Bowie Zawdney.
