Audio Technica ATH-SQ1TW headphones review: Beautiful sound and original design

The ATH-SQ1TW is available in black, white, blue, caramel, blue, and burgundy, or in pink and brown. Audio Technica has worked particularly hard on the aesthetic side of their product. Made of fairly high quality plastic, the headphones – like the case – take on a characteristic cubic shape. But the matte top part of the ear cups, where the touchpad is located, is prone to fingerprints, while the glossy bottom part can get dirty easily.

For its part, the case, completely matte, retains fingerprints. If the headphones are light (5.2 g) and very small (1.5 x 1.8 x 2.5 cm), the same cannot be said for the latter. With a length of 5 cm, a width of 5 cm, a height of 3 cm and a weight of 34.2 g, it is clear that the case will not be forgotten in your pocket. On the other hand, the case and its hinge feel solid and we didn’t notice any gouging.

Equipped with four pairs of silicone tips and a USB cable, the ATH-SQ1TW offers a satisfying level of comfort, but is far from models with a semi-in-ear design. They hold well in place when you choose the correct tips. The four sizes offered allow them to fit a lot of shapes.

However, they will not be forgotten. Note that this model does not have an IP certificate, so beware of rain or regular and intense sports training. Finally, you will notice that if the earpads have supportive fins, they mainly play an aesthetic role. As the brand specifies, they can be used to improve fixation in the ears if needed.
