Announced: Xbox exclusive Obisidian released at the end of the year | X-Box

The upcoming Obsidian-developed RPG was treated to a new gameplay presentation during the 2024 Xbox conference, allowing Xbox to simultaneously confirm the game's release date scheduled for the end of the year.

Another Xbox exclusive has been announced for the end of 2024

It's now official, Avowed will be released at the end of 2024 exclusively on Xbox and PC. Microsoft has put the game in the spotlight and revealed new gameplay stages. Good news, the developers at Obsidian have improved the game's graphics which look more polished than they did when the game was introduced last year.

As a reminder, Avowed takes place in the world of Pillars of Eternity. The game offers a new perspective, a new way to fight, and a new land to explore in the world of Eora, in the eastern lands of Dawnshore.

In Avowed, players will explore the Living Lands, a wild and infested island located in the world of Eora. It is described as full of mysteries, mysteries, dangers, adventures, choices and consequences. Each part of the Living Lands is home to its own ecosystem, from bustling port cities to rolling hills dotted with weird and wonderful plants. “On every corner you'll find intelligent creatures, mushrooms, or tribes of lizard-like Xaurips looking to prepare their next meal…”

Avowed will be played from a first-person perspective, and as in any good Obsidian game, companions play a major role in the adventure. The first companion we'll meet is called Kai, an Aumaua, and one of the only friendly faces you'll find in the Living Lands. He is a former soldier with an idealistic and practical temperament, and he will help us venture into this wild frontier.
