An artistic and cultural residency at the Auvezère Valley Espace Jeunes Dronne et Belle, August 1, 2022, Brantôme en Périgord.

Art and cultural residency in the Auvezère Valley from 1 to 5 August Espace Jeunes Dronne et Belle

As part of the “Learning Colonies” operation by the Ministry of National Education.

Dronne and Belle Brantôme Youth Center in Périgord Brantôme en Périgord 24310 Dordogne Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The ‘VIP’ or Pass’ Adolescents project is a joint venture between the Leisure Center (3-11 years old) and Espace Jeunes (11-17 years old), in Brantômois. Allows young people to be escorted seamlessly from one structure to another.
On the note that:
• Some recreational activities were less suitable for the general CM2
• These young people want to be more independent
• These young people had a lack of knowledge of the performance of the youth space
• These young people needed information about university life
• Some high school students (6th grade) wanted to spend time with their younger friends and girlfriends to share experiences.
Therefore specific times are allotted throughout the school year for young people in CM1 / CM2 / 6ème, with facilitators from both structures and common resources.
It is in this framework that we organize this residency, which is the real highlight and the conclusion of the academic year.
The stay will take place in the town of Cherveix-Cubas, near the Auvezère Valley, in Périgord Noir, Dordogne County in New Aquitaine.

We will be staying at the camp site “Le clupeau”, a family camping site next to the river and a few steps from the city center. It has all amenities: shaded pitches, electricity, toilets and offers services that we can use: table tennis, badminton, pétanque, wifi, bar/snack.
We have two tents for eight people and a kitchen tent.
We will distribute the youth in these tents and we will also ask the young people who do not wish to sleep in a group to bring their own tent.
All meals will be designed as a key learning moment, which is one of the focus of the ALSH educational project, the theme of ‘Citizenship’. The primary goal is to work on independence and think about one’s health and where food is produced. Meals are prepared by young people accompanied by a member of the team. In order to ensure food security for young people, we will implement a logical approach guided and accompanied by the “Guide to Good Hygiene Practices for Outdoor Communal Dining at the Communal Reception of the Palace”.
Our motives for choosing this type of accommodation and catering are mainly based on:
With the will of the youth
The necessity of making young people actors in their spare time
On the desire to restore social interaction
– On the desire to support young people towards autonomy.
We will have a kitchen tent equipped with a refrigerator, work surfaces and necessary storage space for storing food. We will ensure, among other things, that these points of the regulations are respected:
Monitor samples
temperature log book
Food Tracking
– Lists displayed.

A group of 16 young adults, ages CM1-CM2 through sixth grade, reside in Dronne and Belle, a rural and aging landlocked area.
The young people who were welcomed come from the various municipalities of Dron and Biel.
This audience responds to a survey conducted by the educational team of Hecklen. The project was to motivate them and bring them together to make them represented in their leisure activities by building an accompanying educational residence. This audience mainly belongs to isolated or single parent families, in an unstable socio-economic situation, or people with disabilities or children of essential workers to manage the health crisis.
We’ll make sure to put together a group where the “boy/girl” combination is effective. However, we are aware that the presence of girls in teenage structures remains low and difficult to mobilize.
These targeted youth are well known to youth structures in the region. This allows for welcome and reassuring support, reassuring young people, families and management team alike.
The group consists of 8 boys and 8 girls.

inability:
We offer outdoor physical and sports activities that can be adapted to people with mild physical disabilities.
In the continuation of the reception that we do at usual times, the supervising team will ensure that there is no discrimination, and will encourage living together, mutual assistance, cooperation and integration of these young people within the group. The team will accompany them in their daily life, and when they need it.

Going on vacation is a way for young people to:

 To build oneself through life experience: to be in a state of discovery, to go away from home, to meet and share among young people.
 Knowing how to be and live together: accepting the other as different, adopting a benevolent attitude (tolerance and respect) towards others through life in the community but also through different interactions (locals, professionals, environment)
 Gaining Independence and Responsibility: Managing the various tasks inherent in daily life at the camp site, and developing mutual trust to guide them towards greater responsibility.

After this meeting, we will be able to target families in need of support. For this, individual appointments will be offered to support preparation for accommodation.
We will make ourselves available to accompany families in acquiring or borrowing things from the chest.
During the stay, the attachment to the families will be maintained. If necessary, managers can be contacted.
