Courtenay. Air et Espace is looking for a new runway. Ten years ago, the Courtenay Aeronautical and Aerospace Association launched courses to pass the Initiation to Flight Certificate (BIA), an official diploma, equivalent to the theoretical part of the ULM pilot certificate.

For several years Frédéric Beinsart, a history teacher, was assisted by Thierry Pujol, the aviator, who gave lessons, open to all, middle school students and adults, on Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 pm at the college. We learn the history of aviation, meteorology, knowledge of aircraft and regulations.
Recently, Courtenay College’s aeronautics class received BIA results: with ten winners, including five signals, Courtenay is rated among the best results in Loiret. Air et Espace wanted to offer young winners an expedition.
However, the club no longer has a grandstand at Courtenay, since the establishment of the factory. On Saturday, these flights were made over the Montargis-Vimory site, where the two club pilots came together for this morning airshow.
“We would like to say a big thank you to Pierre Gauthier, Jean-Marc Corot and Alain Jaeger, who made their Savannah and Cettius available,” explains Air et Espace columnist Michel Ligonnet. The club now wants to find a new site to continue experiential learning near Courtenay.
