With a win for Best Mobile Game of 2023, a well-written story and an anniversary with great fanfare, what does Honkai Star Rail look like in one year? We tell you about this in our joint project Fast!

It has been a few weeks since Honkai Star Rail celebrated its first anniversary. Unlike its big brother, the community didn't have to rush for more rewards since the game was particularly generous during this holiday season. Summoning, special events, a highly anticipated character, in short, it was a success. With revenues of over $100 million in April, will the Hoyoverse turn-based game run out of steam over time? You will have the answer in our joint project Fast.

Revamped gameplay

In Honaki, new events appear every three weeks. Each update is accompanied by a new mission that contains a small story, sometimes funny and humorous, sometimes mysterious and adding depth to the game world. Well, that is if you read the dialogues. The real power of Events is its gameplay. Management gameplay, rogue-lite, cargo delivery, cocktail creation, and even the Yu-Gi-Oh inspired system, the different stages of the game are constantly being renewed. Each of these game modes allows you to earn a lot of rewards, much more than in Genshin Impact.

But what about the game itself then?

Honkai Star Rail is a turn-based video game. The world of science fiction mixes with fantasy and magic depending on the places we go. Everything is gigantic, with characters more interesting than others thanks to their story or design. Multiple permanent game modes allow you to obtain rewards for using the gacha system to obtain powerful allies… But in the end it's still a mobile game.

After celebrating his first birthday, has Genshin Impact's little brother outgrown him?

If you play every day, you probably already have that feeling of not having anything to do. There will inevitably come a time when you will have no more quests, no more events, no more monsters to fight except for fun, etc. This moment is always very frustrating. Obviously, the game itself is not finished yet, but you are forced to wait for the next update. It's better to play a little bit every day so you don't get bored, otherwise you won't have anything interesting to do. Your adventures will take you to the stars, but be careful not to go too fast.
