A tragic accident in the Netherlands!
A fire broke out in the engine of a Boeing airliner shortly after takeoff at Maastricht Aachen Airport – metal parts fell from the sky in the municipality of Meersen!
Police said an elderly woman had been hit in the head and had to be treated in hospital. A child was reportedly lightly injured and burned while trying to pick up debris from the ground.
Aircraft spare parts also sustained damage to a number of cars and homes. The full extent of the damage is unclear.
