UFC, Paul Felder officially announces his retirement
“Since I encountered Dan Hooker in New Zealand in February, the fire came back a bit when I had to face Rafael dos Angus with 5 days notice. I thought I had the urge to come back but since then I have spent most of my days swimming, cycling and running. I have enjoyed the moments with my family. And my new job as a commentator.I feel like I’ve reached that point where I no longer feel the urge to fight for many more years to win the title.I’ve always said that if I don’t win the title in the last year, I will retire to be close to family and friends, even to save myself. General, I feel physically fit, I love UFC with all my heart for all it has given me, for all the opportunities I have had to work and sit here, next to this office, something that I have always wanted to do and will continue to do.I have officially pulled out of MMA and UFC.
I came to be number 6 in the world and I was about to fight for the belt, I ran into some of the strongest players in this division and I really want to thank all of my opponents. And I also want to apologize to all the men behind me, the guys who can’t wait to fight. I am officially holding back because it is not right to prevent a split. On the contrary, I would like more people to follow the example of me. this is how I feel now. I love my fans, producers, teammates, UFC, and Dana White. I love this company and all it has given me, the life it has guaranteed me. Fielder said.
