Little Archie's hat is a huge hit on Instagram

The New Zealand company that made Meghan and Harry's headpieces is now inundated with orders.

For the New Year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a video on Instagram reminiscing about 2019. Among the images that make up this short film is one that has made Internet users fall in love in particular. This is a photo of little Archie in his father's arms in front of a lake in Canada, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent their Christmas holidays. The almost eight-month-old baby is wearing a gray hat with pompoms, which has caught the attention of royal fans.

The woolly headbands that Harry and Meghan wore to their baby in this photo were so popular that just two days after the photo was posted, the New Zealand-based social enterprise that makes them is now collapsing under orders from parents who want to offer the same to their children.

“Demands have exploded.”

“It was a complete surprise, and it's very exciting,” he said. guardian Becky Smith, founder of social enterprise Make Give Live, donates a hat to charity for every hat purchased. As the British newspaper explains, thousands of orders have been placed by volunteers who make the woollen garments in libraries and cafes across the country.

“It’s been crazy, the orders have exploded,” Becky Smith continued, “but there will be delays (in terms of delivery, editor’s note). Our knitting groups were formed primarily to create community and maintain the mental health (of their members), so we don’t want to pressure them to knit a lot of hats in one week. Hat making takes time (…), and we want to make it fun.”

This isn’t the first time one of Archie’s outfits has caused a stir on Instagram. The blue and white striped outfit that Meghan and Harry wore to their meeting with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Desmond Tutu last September quickly caused a storm at H&M after photos of the encounter were released.
