Sail GP: Quentin Delapierre's French team takes second place in New Zealand
Sail GP (Round 9), Christchurch (New Zealand)
The postponed first day of racing did not change the state of mind of the French Sail GP team, driven by Van compatriot Quentin Delapierre, who has finished fourth in the last three Grands Prix.
Fourth overall
In New Zealand, the French finished second, just behind the local crew and ahead of Canada. The podium, the first this season, allows France to secure a place in the general classification, moving from fifth to fourth place, just one point behind the Spaniards.
“This second place comes at a perfect time and we are progressing well in the general classification. There is a lot of joy in the team. “Next step: winning the final,” described driver Quentin Delapierre, who was satisfied with his participation in the first final of the season.
The next Grand Prix is scheduled to be held in Bermuda on May 4-5.
