New role for former Black Ferns coach Wayne Smith

The New Zealand Rugby Union announced on Thursday 25 May (Friday in New Zealand) the appointment of a senior New Zealand rugby personality to a position of great responsibility. A former All Black international and Black Ferns coach, Wayne Meath was named a “performance coach” in the country’s XV selections, and thus of the Black Ferns and All Blacks.

What is this new job? So Wayne Smith will have mentoring jobs for different coaches and their staff. If he had already started working with Black Ferns management and especially new coach Allan Bunting, he would have waited until the All Blacks World Cup was over, thus taking over from Scott Robertson.
