old person. The new space for meetings and leisure is opened
It’s a project that dates back several decades, but would not have been realized until a few years ago. On Saturday, April 22, the new meeting and entertainment venue in Aji was inaugurated in the presence of many dignitaries.

“The project to establish a new village hall dates back nearly forty years! “But it never paid off,” explains Philippe Chatillon, mayor of Aegean. With the acquisition of the Jardin du Soleil by the municipality, ten years ago, the place was found and the municipality finally approved the project in 2017. The construction was then carried out in two phases. “In 2017 we built a state-of-the-art courtyard – we basically had the framework – which this year becomes our new meeting and entertainment venue.”
A place for associations and residents
This hall, which opened on Saturday 22nd April, will serve both associations and residents. Little by little, the activities that take place in the old village hall will be transferred to this new space. “We have a gym, yoga, dynamic yoga and a choir. Some of these activities won’t start until the start of the school year. The meeting and leisure space is also designed for Agey residents when they want to organize special celebrations.
Low energy building
The building is designed to consume very little energy. “The insulation is made of wood wool, we have installed photovoltaic panels, the heating is provided by a heat pump…and the space has a fitted kitchen,” the first town councillor lists. As for the acoustics, we tested it on Saturday and it has nothing to do with the old building. You will be able to hold concerts. Finally, the building blends into the landscape of the Jardin du Soleil thanks to the appropriate cladding.
Two shops in the old village hall
Inside the old village hall, two companies will be set up during the year. A florist, Pétales Sauvages, will soon start operating and will occupy the lower part of the building, while a caterer, L’Encas des gourmands, will mainly occupy the floor selling his dishes. Opening dates have not been determined yet.
558,000 euros
This is the cost of building the meeting and leisure space, 75% of which comes from subsidies from the administration, the territory (Effilogis) and the state (Recovery Plan).
We tested it [l’acoustique] Saturday and has nothing to do with the old building. You will be able to hold concerts.
