Two tropical waves are expected, the second of which could turn into a depression in the following week
Two tropical waves will affect the southern half of the Caribbean arc. The second “evolves in a favorable environment.” Turbulence may turn into a tropical depression in the middle of next week towards the Lesser Antilles, according to the Martinique weather forecast.
The first tropical wave, at about 1,500 km, should affect the southern half of the arc with locally heavy rain and a storm on the evening of Sunday and Monday (26 and 27 June 2022). “The islands most threatened by these rains and the temporary strengthening of the winds lie far south of the arc, but rainy, stormy weather can flood even the Martiniques.
The most active tropical wave is under surveillance by the services Meteorology in Martinique. “It develops in an environment conducive to its condensation. At the moment, the preferred scenario is intensification as a tropical depression or a tropical storm with passage from central to southern Caribbean between Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening.
This disorder, of course, was also examined by American specialists in NHC (National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida).
Clouds and showers are becoming slightly more concentrated near the orbital wave. Environmental conditions seem favorable for its development over the next few days.
Vigilance measures are expected as early as possibly Sunday evening in Martinique.
