Australia and New Zealand top the Las Leonas group, which ranked third – Tellam

New Zealand defeated Las Leonas in their Olympic debut.

Australia and New Zealand beat China (6-0) and Japan (2-1) respectively on Monday and shared the lead in the women’s field hockey group B, in which Las Leonas is third.

In the first round, Australia defeated China 6-0 at the south court of Oi Hockey Stadium.

Then, at the North Court, New Zealand defeated Japan 2-1 and extended their streak that had started in the first game with a 3-0 victory over Argentina.

After beating Spain (3-0), Las Leonas finished third with three points, like China but with a better goal difference. Japan and Spain complete the boundless zone.

In Group A, the first place is also shared by the Netherlands and Germany.

The Netherlands, the silver medalist at the 2016 Rowe Championships, beat Ireland 4-0, while Germany beat India 2-0.

The British national team, defending gold, achieved its first victory after beating South Africa 4-1.

The third date will open on Wednesday at 9:30 pm (Argentine time) with the Netherlands and South Africa match.
