WRC: Sebastien Ogier returns to Rally New Zealand
Team Toyota announced on Sunday that Sebastien Ogier will be at the start of Rally New Zealand, round 11 of the World Rally Championship (WRC) scheduled for the end of September.
He has not driven at the WRC since the Kenya rally at the end of June. Team Toyota announced on Sunday that Sebastien Ogier will be at the start for Rally New Zealand (September 29 to October 2). The eight-time world champion, French driver, and reigning champion had only planned to run a handful of events this season. This was the case in Monte Carlo (2e), in Portugal (abandonment) and thus in Kenya (4e).
Like Sébastien Ogier, Sébastien Loeb has won the World Rally Championship nine times, and is also participating in certain events this season. But there will be no new duel between the two men in New Zealand. After winning in Monte Carlo at the start of the season before giving up in Portugal and finishing eighth in Kenya, the Alsatian will be back next weekend at the Acropolis Rally (Greece).
In the 11th round of the WRC season, Toyota will enter four cars, including one of the young Finn Kali Rovanpera (21), who has won five times this season (in 9 rounds) and leads the world championship with 72 points. Tank (Hyundai).
