The results are predictable and the game has taught the Vietnamese players and their coach, Mai Duc Chong, lessons as they take on a world-class opponent.

Speaking after the match, Mai Duk Chung said the whole team tried hard, but the weakness of the players was that they didn’t have enough communication on the field.

Coach Mai Duk Chung made several changes to test most positions before officially participating in the 2023 Women’s World Cup final. Players who had not or rarely played in the past were used in the second half.

The coach said that the Vietnamese players did not play well in the second half but it was a test.

Before playing Spain, Vietnam lost 1-2 to Germany and 0-2 to New Zealand. The team has just over a week to prepare for their opening match against defending champions USA on July 22 at Eden Park in Auckland City.
