Strengthening the bilateral partnership
The two leaders said that the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Argentina has continued to develop positively, significantly and effectively through the exchange of delegations and high-level contacts. Bilateral trade volume will reach more than 4.8 billion US dollars in 2022. Argentina remains Vietnam’s third largest trading partner in Latin America and is its second largest in Asia.
The two leaders agreed to deepen political, diplomatic and people-to-people ties, and take advantage of the integration of their economies to increase bilateral trade to US$10 billion by 2025.

The NVA chief suggested that the two governments coordinate closely to further enhance the exchange of high-level delegations as well as at the ministerial and sectoral levels, thus strengthening relations between the two countries, and consolidating and developing political trust between the two parties.
He suggested promoting the possibility of starting negotiations on a free trade agreement between Vietnam and Mercosur and effectively implementing bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the intergovernmental committee and political consultation to build a balanced and sustainable trade balance.
He also urged the Vietnamese leader to expand and strengthen cooperation in other fields such as culture, education, sports, science and technology, renewable energy and people-to-people exchanges, while supporting decentralized cooperation in order to develop bilateral relations globally in all fields and at all levels.
The Argentine president emphasized that the Argentine government highly values Vietnam’s status and its growing status in the region and the world. Noting that the relations between the two countries have huge potential for cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, science, technology, energy and response to climate change.
It was agreed that the two governments should continue to ensure favorable conditions for each country’s major agricultural products to access each other’s markets, strengthen trade promotion activities and link Vietnamese and Argentine companies.
On this occasion, the NVA chief also conveyed President Vo Van Thuong’s invitation to President Alberto Fernandez to visit Vietnam at his convenience. The Argentine President happily accepted the invitation.
