United States: A man was found dead surrounded by more than a hundred snakes
California –
Phobias refrain. On Thursday, authorities announced that a 49-year-old American man was found dead in his Maryland home surrounded by more than 100 snakes. The police were called after a neighbor reported that he was lying unconscious on the ground. Charles County Sheriff said in a statement New York Post.
Inside the house, rescuers found nearly 130 snakes, some of them venomous. Among them, a Burmese python with a length of 4.2 meters, according to a report New York Post. Reptiles lived in terrariums arranged on shelves. They were all retrieved by Charles County Animal Control, a type of local SPA, with the help of experts from North Carolina and Virginia. During an interview with local channel WUSA9, Jennifer Harris, a spokeswoman for this association, said it was the largest group of snakes they had ever seen in over 30 years of experience.
At this point, we have not detected any snakes in the wild.
The speaker also wanted to reassure the neighbors, who were not aware of the presence of these snakes in the man’s house, of their safety. “I want to assure the community and anyone who lives in this neighborhood that no snakes have been able to escape”She said. “I know people were worried that there might be a danger to people living nearby, but at this point we haven’t discovered any free-living snakes after this guy died.”
