Toulouse. Two new European Space Agency astronauts soon at the Cité de l’Espace

They are already dreaming of both the youngest and the oldest. The two new recruits ESAAstronauts Sophie Adinot And Arnaud Prost It will be at the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse on March 9 and 10, 2023.
They will be accompanied by the astronaut and former minister Claudie HenryBeside Didier SchmidtHead of Manned Aviation Strategy and Coordination at the European Space Agency Lionel SuchetCNES Executive Vice President.
Two days visits to the sites of Toulouse
For two days, the astronauts will visit the main European space sites in Toulouse. It will be the first step in CNES To discover technical expertise in terms of manned flights in Toulouse. Astronauts will return to the European manned flight program developed by the European Space Agency and the recent missions of International Space Station (ISS), of which astronaut Thomas Pesquet was a member.
It will be an opportunity for astronauts to discuss with the European ESM about future ambitions for lunar exploration, Artemis missionbut also “the global ambitions of European space”, defines the European Space Agency.
On the educational side, the two astronauts will be able to exchange with students and middle school and high school students from the “OSE” Social Openness Program at ISAE Supaéro, an institution through which Sophie Adinot and Arnaud Prost.
To complete their journey, the astronauts will visit the Airbus Defense and Space site and clean rooms. To close out those two days, the CNES Space Command will present a space exercise: AsterX23. A large-scale and unique military space exercise in Europe began on February 21, 2023 and is scheduled to end on March 10.
The two astronauts will not meet with the public at the Cité de l’Espace. But once again the Pink City is honored to welcome these new recruits.
