TOP 14: Montpellier confirms appointment of Benson Stanley, until then assistant coach of ASM Clermont
As we announced last Friday, Benson Stanley will not remain on the athletic coaching staff led by Christophe Jourius next season. Three years after returning to Claremont, the New Zealander who took an interest in skills at ASM will incorporate a new crew.
He joined Montpellier, as a defense specialist and assistant to Richard Cockerell, MHR’s next head coach. In an interview with peer rugbyramaChief Muhid Altrad confirmed Stanley’s arrival, stating that “Richard (Cockerell), Jana (Ellisalde) and Philippe (Saint-André) say a lot of good things about him”.
Do not replace
In principle, Benson Stanley’s departure will not be compensated for by a specific recruit. It’s Frédéric Charrier, Oreos assistant and backline coach, who should take charge of the defense and skills sector.
