Todd Howard refuses to talk about the dates of Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6 | X-Box
Between Starfield updates, work on the Shattered Space expansion, the arrival of Fallout 4's next-gen update and the follow-up to Fallout 76, it's clear that Bethesda has a lot to keep busy. Let's also remember that the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls VI entered active development last summer. That being said, with the success of the Fallout TV series, there's reason to wonder if Bethesda doesn't want to focus development efforts on Fallout 5.
Todd Howard refuses to talk about Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6 game dates
Todd Howard, director of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Starfield, provided some details regarding developments for The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 during an interview with IGN.
If it has been confirmed several times that the next game from the studio to see the light will be The Elder Scrolls VI, it has been asked if this is the case today with the success of the Fallout series.
He explained that he does not want to talk about dates related to parts of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, but Bethesda continues to focus its development efforts on The Elder Scrolls VI, without ruling out work on other projects.
I would avoid putting dates on anything. I learned this the hard way. So obviously when it comes to new developments, we're currently focusing on Elder Scrolls VI, but that doesn't mean we're not planning other things.
In June 2022, Todd Howard confirmed to IGN that Fallout 5 would see the light of day after The Elder Scrolls VI. According to the document used in the lawsuit filed between Microsoft and the FTC over the Activision Blizzard King acquisition, The Elder Scrolls VI will be an Xbox exclusive.
Last month, Bethesda announced the title to mark the 30th anniversary of the license.
Finally, yes, we are currently developing the next chapter, The Elder Scrolls VI. Even today, returning to Tamriel and playing the early versions fills us with the same joy, excitement, and promise of adventure.
We'll definitely have to be patient before we find out more, but in the meantime, fans of Bethesda's products will be able to enjoy Fallout 4's next-gen update starting April 25, and later “very good updates” from Starfield.
