This upcoming new feature will make WhatsApp more convenient.
No more snooping on your conversations to chat with your favorite WhatsApp contacts! The app finally has a very practical new feature, which was eagerly awaited.
WhatsApp is such a practical instant messaging tool that we easily find ourselves having dozens or even more conversations at the same time. Between discussions with loved ones and group discussions, we can quickly become exhausted and lost in the thread of numerous conversations! However, there are people we talk to more than others – sometimes daily – so much so that it would be practical to always have them on hand.
Until now, it wasn’t possible to quickly reach a specific contact. You could simply pin a conversation, then tap on the profile picture of the contact in question to reveal the option to call them. Unfortunately, this process proved to be tedious and time-consuming.
But it will soon be history! WhatsApp is gradually rolling out the new “Favorites” filter to the stable version of the app, on both Android and iOS – all you have to do is update. A novelty as anticipated as it is practical, so much so that we are right to wonder why it has arrived so late…
As such, the Favorites filter now appears at the top of the main Discussions tab, along with filters for All, Unread, Group, and Calls. Contacts marked as Favorites get quick dialing options for voice and video calls, unlike Recents which only allows repeat calls. To add conversations to Favorites, you need to either select the Favorites filter in the Discussions tab, tap Add to Favorites in the Calls tab, or go to the Favorites section in Settings.
This shortcut will save valuable time, especially in urgent situations or when you need to contact specific contacts repeatedly. It is much faster than having to search for the contact's name in the search bar or having to scroll through conversations until their name appears.
