These shows have been canceled today
From July 20th to August 20th, the world is back in soccer fever. But the Women’s World Cup also has an impact on the regular programme.
This time the FIFA Women’s World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand. It starts July 20th in Auckland. There will be a total of 64 matches before the winner is announced on August 20 at Sydney Stadium.
The individual games will be broadcast on ARD and ZDF. For a month, public broadcasters’ programming will be dominated by sports. Viewers who aren’t interested in the Women’s World Cup may find it a little annoying.
Because they will have to do without the usual program on the first and second four weeks. Here you can see which popular formats will be canceled and where the game will be shown.
July 20 in the ARD
The first match of the 2023 World Cup – Norway vs. New Zealand – will be broadcast on the first and will take place at 9 am. The report starts at 8:03 am. 12:00pm Australia will play Ireland.
- 9 am: New Zealand vs Norway
- 12 noon: Australia-Ireland
As for the two games, you should make room for programs like “Crazy for the Sea”, “Asked – Hunted”, “ARD Buffet” or “Master of Everyday Life”. At 2 p.m., ARD finishes reporting on the Women’s World Cup.
The sport continues anyway. Because in the afternoon the station shows the Tour de France. Popular formats such as “The Pet Professionals”, “Storm of Love”, or “Crazy for the Sea” will also be removed from the program for this purpose. No changes to ZDF on July 20th.
The first match will take place in Germany four days later. The German national team will play on Monday at 10:30 am against Morocco. A total of 32 teams compete against each other in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Due to the time difference in New Zealand and Australia, football matches start between 2 am and 2 pm in the early afternoon German time.
