The women’s team prepares for the friendly match against New Zealand
The Vietnam women’s soccer team traveled to Napier, New Zealand on the afternoon of July 6 to play a friendly match against the New Zealand team to prepare for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

Coach Mai Duc Chung’s players had to travel three airlines, Hanoi-Changi-Auckland-Napier, to reach their destination with a total travel time of nearly 24 hours. The Vietnamese team was warmly welcomed upon arrival at Auckland Airport by FIFA and the Local Organizing Committee.
The team includes 23 players. During the six days in Napier, they will play two friendly matches against the national teams of New Zealand and Spain, before officially entering the final stage. In Group E, they will face the United States on July 22, Portugal on July 27 and the Netherlands on July 1.any August.
