The United States crushes New Zealand
The US women’s soccer team, two-time world champions, crushed New Zealand (5-0) with their heavyweight, a rare event, with three goals against their camp from defender Michaela Moore, Sunday during the second day of the Sheeppelins Cup.
The Americans benefited greatly from the adventures of Moore, who plays for Liverpool in the English championship, and put the ball in his net in the fifth, sixth and thirty-sixth minutes.
Overwhelmed by the seconds for a few seconds after this unfortunate hat-trick, she was promptly substituted, not without being consoled by her teammates.
Ashley Hatch scored the fourth American goal in the 51st minute, and Mallory Pugh finished winning the fifth goal three minutes before the end in Carson (California).
The United States are unbeaten in 64 matches in all competitions on their home soil, and can still win the SheBelieves Cup. But for that they will have to beat Iceland in the third and final match of the tournament on Tuesday.
Because the Icelanders, who beat New Zealand on Thursday, achieved a second victory (2-1) at the expense of the Czechs in the evening, and thus took first place in the group, two points ahead of the Americans.
