The sidewalk is an area that must be protected for pedestrians

CAWaB, Wallonia-Brussels Accessibility Collective organized an awareness activity on Wednesday about pedestrian inconvenience caused by fleet free navigation devices. In Liège, this action took place at the foot of the Saucy footbridge.
Placing binders on scooters, bicycles and other motorbikes parked on the sidewalks was the measure implemented on Wednesday by the Collective Accessibility Wallonia Brussels to raise awareness among its users. Obstacles that constitute obstacles for pedestrians, especially for people with reduced mobility. Associations that also denounce the excessive speeds of these machines that often share the road with pedestrians. In this context, the ‘Mass Accessibility Wallonia Brussels’ urges the authorities to define by future executive decrees a regulatory framework that guarantees pedestrian sidewalks that are clear of any obstacles, accessible and safe. Associations also requesting a limited number of shared vehicles depending on available parking and strengthening controls on the ground to deliver faster penalties in the event of a violation.
