The new series “The Lord of the Rings” sets a record
Since this Friday there are new stories from Middle-earth. Thanks to the Rings of Power. Apparently, many people benefited from the offer.
The launch of The Lord of the Rings: The Power Rings is the company’s most successful debut series ever, according to Amazon. For the first time ever, Amazon’s Prime video streaming service has released its viewership stats, and “The Hollywood Reporter” reports the numbers at the start of the series.
According to Amazon, 25 million people worldwide watched The Rings of Power on the first day of its release. According to Prime Video, this is the streaming service’s premiere ever. The first two episodes have been available since September 2. The other six episodes of the first season will be released weekly from Friday night to Friday.
We are just a few weeks away from the start of production.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is considered the most expensive series of all time. A total of five seasons are planned. The TV show takes place in the second era in the history of Middle-earth. And so thousands of years before the events of “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings”.
Filming of the first season continued in New Zealand through the summer of 2021. The second season will not be set in the old Lord of the Rings home country, as Peter Jackson shot the original films at the time. Great Britain is supposed to be the production site. “We’ve written our drafts for season two,” showrunner JD Payne told the Radio Times recently, adding, “We’re two weeks into production.”
