Leopolz wants to take his son to the World Cup
National player Melanie Leopolz wants to take her son to the World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand if he is nominated.
“The main thing is not to be there. If we travel, we will also travel together, and then he will come with us,” the 28-year-old said in an interview with Sky. This will not change their focus. It is “a big goal for sure.”
Leopolds assured that if she could participate in the World Cup in the summer (from July 20 to August 20), she would still be a “football player”: “If we had free time, I would enjoy spending time with them on site.” Schulte, who is pregnant again, with her twins, is at the European Championships in England.
First of all, Leopolds can play her first international match after maternity leave against Brazil on Tuesday (6pm/ARD) in Nuremberg. The 75-time Chelsea international, who last played for the German Confederation team against Portugal in November 2021, also has her six-month-old son on the current cycle.
“It would be nice if it worked out in a few minutes,” said Leopols, who missed Friday’s match against the Netherlands in Sittard (1-0) due to a broken nose. Now the nose is working “very well.” She said: “It was a shock, but I dealt with it well. I have a mask and I’m totally ready for it.”
