The iMac is set to debut as a 32-inch model with Apple Silicon in 2021
The l0vetodream leak has released an Easter surprise: the iMac is scheduled to appear with a much larger screen this year. On board will be a new Apple Silicon processor, which will be much faster than the M1 currently installed in MacBook Air, Mac mini and 13-inch MacBook Pro.
The iMac is currently available in 21.5-inch and 27-inch versions. The latter model is really large and takes up a lot of office space, but Apple is reportedly planning a 32-inch model with Apple Pro Display XDR screen size. There are also rumors that the 21.5-inch model will be replaced by another with a 24-inch screen. If the edge of the image becomes narrower, the end result may be that the devices are barely larger than their predecessors.
New narrow edge box
Visually, the iMac has to be completely changed. The current design has a lifespan of about eight years and has not been revised since. However, when the M1 processor was introduced, Apple did not change anything in the cases of the Mac mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro.
It is claimed that the new iMac should look very similar to the iPad Pro, that is, have sharp edges. Perhaps Apple will also take full steps and bring the iMac to the market with its Pro Display XDR design.
When will the new iMac come out?
Apple has already taken the Intel processor iMac Pro out of its range, and some variants of the smaller model are currently no longer available for the iMac. We expect Apple to introduce the new iMacs in the next few months, perhaps even in different body colors than the first iMacs.
