The Emir of Qatar and his wife welcome King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima in the Netherlands
On Monday, June 24, 2024, Emir Tamim of Qatar will pay an official visit to the Netherlands. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was received with honors by King Willem-Alexander at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague, while Queen Máxima brought out a magnificent trinket to accompany Sheikha Jawaher.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikha Jawaher at Noordeinde Palace
The Emir of Qatar arrived in The Hague, Monday, June 24, on an official visit to the Netherlands, with the aim of strengthening diplomatic relations and cooperation aspirations between the two countries. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's day began at Noordeinde Palace, the workplace of the Dutch Head of State.

During his official duties abroad, Prince Tamim (44 years old) has recently become accustomed to traveling with his first wife, Sheikha Jawaher. Sheikha Jawaher appeared in public for the first time at an official event abroad, in 2022, when the prince was received by King Felipe and Queen Letizia in Madrid. The Emir of Qatar has 13 children from his three wives. Sheikh Tamim succeeded his father, Sheikh Hamad, in 2013 after the latter abdicated the throne. Today, Sheikh Hamad is 72 years old.

King Willem-Alexander (57 years old) had booked the protocol ceremony scheduled to receive a foreign head of state, in the presence of Queen Máxima, who, for her part, was accompanied by the First Lady of Qatar.
For this occasion, Queen Máxima showed off her light blue outfit designed by Nathan, which caused a sensation last December. The outfit has been described as a “Cinderella dress”. Dutch press, when she first wore it to attend the 2023 Christmas Party and Queen Máxima matched it again with an array of diamonds and blue stones. This adornment, whose origin is unknown, has been worn by the Queen since 2013.
After this welcome at Nordinde Palace, and then an exchange of views between the two heads of state, the Emir of Qatar joined the office of Prime Minister Mark Rutte. The Emir of Qatar also met with the Presidents of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
In parallel with his meetings with the Dutch authorities, a round table is being organized for the Qatari delegation accompanying him to the Netherlands. This delegation consists of CEOs of companies from various sectors, ranging from food to sustainable energy and food.
