Tadej Pogacar will be in Boucles de la Mayenne next May

Every year, the Boucles de la Mayenne tries to climb one step, one more step. This year, the 2022 edition will feature two major foreign teams, Movistar and the UAE Team Emirates, two-time Tour de France winner, Tadej Pogacar. Beric Gisne, President of Boucles de la Mayenne, is pleased with this news: “We will achieve the goal we set for ourselves, which is to welcome five teams from the World Tour. In addition to the three Frenchmen (Groupama FDJ, Ag2r Citroën and Cofidis), there will be a Movistar and so the very good news is the presence of Team Tadej Pogacar, the UAE National Team. We will get bigger. And if we have headlines, Laval City and our department will shine.“

Will the Slovenian star be present in Maine? Unfortunately, there is very little chance, even if the time trial winner between Changé and Laval at the Tour last June certainly has fond memories of Mayenne. To prepare for the Tour de France, the riders are more accustomed to taking part in the Critérium du Dauphiné which starts this year a week after Boucles finishes. There’s also the Tour de Suisse, mid-June. But, according to our information, Pogacar will compete in the Tour of Slovenia, at home, from June 15-19. An event that bears its title and is ranked in the Pro Series, such as Loops.

In this UAE national team, there is in particular the German sprinter Pascal Ackermann, the young Frenchman Alexei Brunel (formerly Groupama FDJ), or even George Bennett, the New Zealand specialist in stage racing.
