Highlights

On a very wet stage where it would have been better to start on the front, Kalle Rovanperä made a good start to the day, taking at least four seconds off all his opponents.

Fifth time author, away from Craig Breen, a very fast opener this morning, Elfyn Evans only held the lead for 2s8 on Ott Tänak, missing confidence on this first special. Behind this duo, Kalle Rovanperä had already secured a place by taking advantage of Sébastien Ogier, only sixth at this time.

“I should tell you it’s all pretty and rosy. The roads are beautiful, but I still struggle a little bit with what happened yesterday. I was very careful here and we want to get through all day without mistakes.”
L Bertelli

“This stage was good, the fist was very good. It is really very technical special, it is good for getting up!”
T Katsuta
10:03.7
“I’m too slow, that’s it, I don’t have a problem. It’s like yesterday, we have to find a way to go faster.
Oh Solberg

“In some places there is good grip. In the end, it wasn’t like that. The car was very soft. It was a very difficult stage for the first pass.”
T Novell
9:52.2
“We tried to get more control but there are a lot of overtakes on this stage. We did what we could – it wasn’t the best stage, but it wasn’t bad either. We’ll keep that pace and see what happens.”
Greensmith
10:02.3
“For me, there was a lot of mud coming back to the road. Our grip was low and it felt a bit like Wales, where the best place to ride first is on the road. I struggled on some slippery sections but it was okay.”
K. Rovanpera

“We’ll see. I think he cleans up a little bit at the back – hopefully not too much! I tried to attack but I didn’t feel confident with my back in tight spaces.
S. Ogier
9:56.5
“I think there were more transgressions in the end. At least the men around me must suffer the same conditions.”
E Evans
9:53.0
“Very wet to be honest, but it’s all good. We just have to keep doing what we can and see what happens.”
Oh Tank
9:51.0
“We made a mistake – we got a bad flag and probably did some damage up front. I don’t have feeling in the car, so we’re not in a fight.
