SpaceX is preparing to launch the first private commercial space station
Elon Musk’s project is supposed to see the light in August 2025, in partnership with the space company Vast.
The race for space tourism is heating up with the announcement last week of the plan to launch a private commercial space station, the first of its kind, by billionaire Elon Musk’s Space-X company (Tesla, Twitter). The station is called Haven-1, and it was born out of the partnership between Space-X and Vast, an American company that specializes in space settlement technologies, and is supposed to be operational in August 2025. It will accommodate four astronauts for a maximum of one month.
For its launch, US billionaire CEO Jed McCaleb chose a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The private space station will orbit in low-Earth orbit before joining a larger station currently under consideration, according to it widespace.com. Vast is pleased to embark on this adventure, launching the world’s first commercial space station, Haven-1, and its first crew, Vast-1. This partnership marks the first steps in Vast’s long-term vision to launch much larger artificial gravity space stations into Earth orbit. and beyond,” He welcomed Jed McCaleb, who plans in the long term to develop commercial tourism inside a 100-meter-long space station powered by artificial gravity.
