Scientists quit Twitter after embarrassing climate deniers

And so Peter Gleick, a climate and water specialist who has been followed by nearly 99,000 people on Twitter, announced on May 21 that he would no longer post messages on the platform, accusing it of amplifying racism and racism.

He notes that “in response to almost any tweet about climate change, I’m inundated with responses from verified accounts with misleading or misleading claims.” Others have simply given up on Twitter. Kathryn Hayhoe calculated that of the 3,000 climate scientists she listed, 100 disappeared after Blue Bird bought the company.
