Remco Evenepoel wins the time trial ahead of Geraint Thomas, general classification winner

Remco Evenepoel saves his Tour de Suisse. The Belgian leader of the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team won the closing time trial of the Tour de Suisse (8th stage) on Sunday 19th June. Sigh of relief for the 22-year-old prodigy, who has suffered in the past days in Switzerland. He was three seconds ahead of Geriant Thomas (Inios Grenadier) providing himself, with this performance, the final overall classification. The third time went to Swiss Stefan Kung (Groupama-FDJ), 11 seconds behind the winner, who was betting hard on this last encounter. However, he completed his national tour in fifth place.
