California firefighters were exhausted Saturday as they battled a massive fire at a home depot in San Jose.
It all started around 5:30 PM local time.
The locals had to avoid the southern sector of the city due to the massive spread of sappers.
Firefighters also asked neighborhood residents to close windows, air conditioning and stay indoors for as long as possible to avoid disturbing the toxic smoke.
The authorities have not reported any injuries, and they have not yet been able to determine the cause of the fire.
A nearby veterinary hospital had to be evacuated and pet owners had to take their companions from somewhere else, away from the flames.
The National Weather Service announced that satellites that detect heat in the atmosphere were able to detect the massive fire.
San Jose residents also said fire debris was starting to fall on their homes.
The building, however, is a complete loss. Firefighters estimate that it will take time to understand what could cause a fire of this magnitude.
