Pernod Ricard ends Australian and New Zealand wine adventure

The spirits giant is accelerating its refocus on high-end spirits.

That’s what Pernod Ricard, the world’s number two wine and spirits company, said on Wednesday that it was ditching Australian, New Zealand and Spanish wines. It is about to be sold to a consortium of investors, Australia Wine Holdco Limited, owner of Accolade Wines, and the division includes Australian wines in particular. Jacob RiverOrlando, St Hugo and New Zealand wines Stoneleigh, Brancott Estate and Church Road, as well as Spanish juices Campo Viejo, Ysios, Tarsus and Azpilicueta. The group specifies that the operation, which is still subject to the green light from competition authorities, should close in the second half of 2025.
