Perfect Dark will have problems, and it will be released after Crystal Dynamics’ new Tomb Raider | Xbox One

As we know, the studio is currently very busy and is working on several games, including a number Complete darknessXbox exclusive from The Initiative, Microsoft’s famous “AAAA” studio. While we don’t know much about the game, new rumors today again point to development difficulties and a distant release.

Complete darkness again in turmoil?

Miller Ross, a very knowledgeable insider when it comes to Crystal Dynamics projects, Perfect Dark has had some issues and won’t be released until after the next Tomb Raider. On the ResetERA forum, this was specifically mentioned:

Tomb Raider alert, Perfect Dark, I’ve heard it hit a snag or two. You will see the first before the second.

Also according to him, the development of the next Tomb Raider game will be more advanced than people imagine, and he predicts that there will be at least a year between the release of the next Tomb Raider and the release of Perfect Dark.

I already expect there to be at least a year in between.

Tomb Raider has actually been in development for a lot longer than people know, although it was relaunched when they switched from Foundation Engine to Unreal Engine 5. It’s been in the works for a while now.

A way out not before 2025?

If the information from Miller Ross is correct, that means Perfect Dark won’t be available until at least 2025. In fact, many rumors tease the next Tomb Raider reveal later this yearthus a possible release in 2024.

As a reminder, Perfect Dark hasn’t shown any sign of life since it was revealed with a CGI trailer in December 2020. The Initiation game is regularly illustrated by supposed development problems, prompting Matt Booty to talk about it last November.

The game is still planned for Xbox Series X | S and PC and is highly anticipated by Xbox gamers.
