Orange hosts version 1ʳᵉ of Java du porc
The first edition of Java du porc, a festival about folk gastronomy, will take place on the weekend of June 3rd and 4th in Orange. On the program are tastings, events and shows, but also the Mondial du saucisson.
The weekend will be punctuated by various activities such as the Rabelais International Sausage Competition, a large exhibition of local and artisanal products Origine France Garantie, events and shows, tastings, a space dedicated to the estates of Châteauneuf-du- Pape and many other wine growers. The fully committed owners of Orange restaurants and merchants will also benefit from this event.
Events and workshops
Over the weekend, little moments with the animals will happen. An educational farm will be set up with two facilities where young and old can rediscover farm animals. It will be possible to enter the main enclosure to spend a moment of tenderness with them. The event will also host a pig triathlon in Parc Gasparin both afternoons in which six competitors will pit against each other while running after truffles being waved by the ‘jockey’. The event organizers would like to remind you that these animals are well treated in this joyous moment which reminds us of village festivals in the past.
How do you celebrate without music? Five musicians will set the mood to the sound of their brass and other festive instruments during a fanfare over the weekend. the couple ‘idiotHe will perform theatrical and catchy songs on the barrel organ on Saturday. This day will end with a party and dance evening hosted by a DJ.
Children will have the right to their own entertainment, as well as an educational farm, near which a bouncy castle will be set up. Young and old will be invited to stroll the streets of Orange and follow the procession of the Three Little Pigs to escape from the big bad wolf. Kids will be able to ride the mini express train and go for rides and candy tastings. Finally, a family route will be created to discover some corners of the city in a fun and educational way. Each family will be provided with a game plan and book that includes simple and fun questions, clues and anecdotes to help solve the puzzles and discover the history of the ruins on the course.

During the event, the City of Orange will also host the third edition of the prestigious fair Rabelais International Sausage Competition. Organized by the Académie du Saucisson A3S, this competition is the only competition that applies to the jury’s classification “Coefficient of Confidence” that can be attributed to the product and its product. It’s not about rewarding the best hot dog in the world, it’s about enlightening consumers and encouraging good producers for more trust and shared pleasure.
It is open to nearly 40 countries around the world. About 130 samples divided into 6 categories will be tasted by about one hundred strictly trained jurors. Among the participants, we find in particular the company Carpentras Ringonowhose sausages will compete with products from Australia, New Zealand or other parts of the world.
