NRL – NZ Warriors wants 20 matches in New Zealand in 2022 – rugby union
Having been forced to move to Australia for most of the 2021 season after the 2020 season he also spent there, the NZ Warriors will want to make up for lost time in 2022.
Playing as many home matches as possible in 2022 is the new goal for the NZ Warriors for the upcoming season. The idea of Cameron George, president of the New Zealand club, is to buy the matches of his team that should normally be played in Australia for transmission. Sponsors have already been contacted to offer financial compensation to the club, which will travel twice to New Zealand. Matches will also be played across the country and not just at Warriors Stadium, in order to make the most of the matches for New Zealanders, who will be denied the National Football League for about two years. Tell Cameron George Christian Nicolosi Sydney Morning Herald :
I have already started talking to some clubs in the National Football League to see if they would consider selling their home game to come to New Zealand next year.
I’m trying to think of matches that can be played in New Zealand next year to get as many matches there as possible. I would like to buy all the outdoor games from Australian clubs and play at least 16 NRL games here. We still want to get 20 games.
The Warriors plans to make a bold bid to hold 20 home matches in New Zealand in 2022. #NRLhttps://t.co/HxUNqskkDS
