Nicklas Cage talks about rejected blockbusters
Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage is currently in the spotlight with the currently in theaters movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, in which he plays his role. In an interview with the magazine People The Hollywood veteran shared his reasons for turning down big offers such as roles in “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Matrix”.
Cage says he actively chose to put family before his career. He did not want to travel the world, for example to shoot “The Lord of the Rings” in New Zealand.
Translate he said:
“There is no version of Nic Cage that family hasn’t beat my career. I rejected the Lord of the Rings and I rejected the Matrix because I didn’t want to go to New Zealand for three years or Australia for three years because I was with my son Weston I had to be home, that’s a fact “.
Taking a role in the popular fantasy film meant that he would be staying in New Zealand for a number of years for a long time. “Nic” was originally chosen to play the role of Aragorn, who went to Stuart Townsend and then Viggo Mortensen after turning him down. Although the production of “The Matrix” wouldn’t have taken as long as the Peter Jackson movie, it would have been in Australia for a longer period of time. He turned down the role of Neo in The Matrix, as did Will Smith, who was acquired by Keanu Reeves.
