New Zealand – SS2: Special for Greensmith, Gen for Breen
It’s a twin Ford Puma that we find at the head of Rally New Zealand at the end of the second special.
As announced, the New Zealand roads were very wet at the start of the day at the opposites. These expected conditions for a full day should erase a large part of the handicap of the fact opening the way for Calle Rovanpera.
At the end of the 29.27km Private Wanga Coast there isn’t much difference, the drivers played it safe despite the peaks near 180km/h and the endless slip sequences on these gorgeous roads.
So, it was Joss Greensmith on his Ford Puma M-Sport who took the scratch in this second showing of Rally New Zealand. Ford doubles overall with Craig Breen leading Greensmith by 0″4. Ogier is third, Tänak fourth and Kalle Rovanperä limits damage and takes sixth at 13″3.
Sebastien Auger: “No control over a lot of sections, but it really wasn’t a bad stage!”
SS3 is scheduled to start at 11:11 PM French time.
